Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Kidivity ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you use our mobile application and services.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information to provide a better experience for you and your children. This includes:
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address via our secure authentication provider. This is strictly used to manage your account, secure your sessions, and sync your data and subscription status across devices. Alternatively, you may use the app as an anonymous guest without providing an email address.
- Subscription and Payment Data: We use a specialized third-party partner (RevenueCat) to manage our subscription service. When you purchase a subscription, the actual payment is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store — we never collect or store your credit card number, bank account details, or billing address. Our subscription partner receives and processes the following on our behalf: an anonymous app user identifier, anonymized purchase receipt tokens from Apple or Google, your active entitlement and subscription status (e.g., Pro), and subscription lifecycle events. This data is used solely to verify your subscription status and provision the correct generation quota for your account. For more information, see their Privacy Policy.
- Child Profiles: You may create profiles for your children within the app. We collect minimal information: a nickname, an avatar selection, an age, and an educational grade level. This data is used to generate personalized, age-appropriate AI activities for your child. We do not require or collect full legal names, specific birthdates, photographs, or any other sensitive identifiers.
- Usage Data: We collect information about the activities generated (topic, category, difficulty, output style selection) and your generation quota usage (number of generations consumed within a billing window) to manage your account limits and improve our content quality.
- Device Information: Standard device information such as device model, operating system version, and platform (iOS or Android) may be collected for diagnostic purposes and to configure the correct billing settings.
2. How We Use Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide and maintain the Kidivity service.
- Manage your subscription and provision access to your correct generation quota (Free, Monthly Pro, or Annual Pro).
- Personalize activities for your child's age and grade level.
- Enforce per-account generation limits to ensure fair usage across all users.
- Synchronize your data, kid profiles, and subscription status across multiple devices.
- Improve and optimize our app's performance and content quality.
- Communicate with you regarding account-related matters (e.g., password resets).
3. Third-Party Service Providers
We use a limited number of trusted third-party service providers to operate Kidivity. We do not sell your data to any third party. Data is shared only as necessary to provide the core functionality of the app:
- Cloud Infrastructure & Database: Handles secure user authentication and stores user accounts, kid profiles, and activity history metadata. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Subscription Management: Manages subscription billing, purchase verification, and entitlement delivery. Receives your anonymous user ID and purchase tokens from Apple/Google.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) Service: Dynamically generates the educational content for each activity. Only anonymous inputs (topic, age group, difficulty) are transmitted — no personally identifiable information is sent to the AI service.
- Secure Cloud Storage: Temporarily stores the generated PDF activity files in a private, encrypted cloud bucket so the app can retrieve and display them to you.
4. Advertising and Analytics
Kidivity does not include any third-party analytics SDKs and does not track user behavior for analytics purposes. The app is completely ad-free and does not integrate any third-party advertising networks. We do not collect advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID) or share data with ad networks or data brokers.
5. Data Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption provided by our cloud infrastructure partners. All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption. Subscription events are authenticated via secure protocols to prevent unauthorized access.
6. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Kidivity is designed for parents and guardians to use with their children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. All data collection (such as child profile creation, subscription purchases, and account management) is initiated and managed by the parent or legal guardian. Child profile data is limited to a nickname, avatar, age, and grade level — none of which constitutes personally identifiable information. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.
7. Your Choices and Data Deletion
You can manage and delete your data at any time within the app's Settings menu. Deleting your account will permanently remove all associated parent and child profile data from our systems. If you have an active subscription, deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription — please cancel through your device's account settings (Apple ID or Google Play) before deleting your account to avoid continued billing.
8. Data Retention
We retain your account data, kid profiles, and activity history for as long as your account is active. Generated PDF files are stored temporarily for retrieval and may be periodically purged. Upon account deletion, all associated data is permanently removed from our database. Anonymized, aggregated usage statistics (not linked to any individual) may be retained indefinitely to improve the service.
